Our Mission

We capture incredible stories through reaction videos, books, and articles. These stories matter — not just for dancers today, but for generations of dancers to come.
This project is a living, ever-growing anthology: a place to revisit beloved styles, discover new traditions, and meet artists and dance historians who may inspire you for years ahead.

When I started dancing lindy hop in 2005, many of the original dancers were still alive. They would tell their stories at events — about wild competitions, late-night parties, and how dance carried them through hard times. Some wrote books, thankfully. But I always wished I could capture more of their voices, gestures, and laughter before they were gone.

That wish became Our Dance Stories, a project devoted to preserving and celebrating the world’s dance traditions.

When I’m not making videos, I’m dancing (lindy hop, collegiate shag, bachata, tango), writing my next book, or swimming in icy rivers.

This project is largely funded by my work as a business and leadership coach. You can read more about that work by clicking here.
